Description
If you have the proper sort of vehicle and the proper sort of nerves, you can drive the Shafer Trail at Canyonlands National Park.
While we stood and watched, two white SUVs met and passed each other ... on a curve, naturally ... and there seemed to be enough room for them both.
Still. I wouldn't do it!

Great shot. My husband would like to drive on that trail... me, I'd leave dents in the dash board and arm rest, where I would be holding on for dear life!
I know that I would ride my trail bike down this route, not too sure that I would ride up.... great capture Tara! Oh yeah! just looked at this again and I WOULD ride down this road
lol, I was on one of those with a small cargo trailer, came to a dead end, had to get out and hand turn the trailer around, then had to inch the durango around.. it was awesome.

Yikes! It's wonderful to look at from this POV, with those graceful tight switchbacks, but like you, I don't think I'd feel comfortable driving it!

Wow! Beautiful shot! I love the vertical sweep, horizontal bands, and diagonal zigzags. With the right kind of vehicle and a well trusted, experienced driver (not me for this kind of terrain) I might go up it, but I'm afraid my stomach would stay behind.
A great vertical landscape with outstanding detail & texture variations. I WOULD like to take that road, but very slowly & cautiously...
