A lovely find & capture!
unfortunately I have to stop for tonight, as I've been in your gallery for over an hour and I have to rest...but I hope to come back again, before I leave RR for another month or so. I end with this shot because it's your most recent, and because it shows, all over again, your strong sense of sweep and scope with a very small subject. It's just a patch of flowers, but your composition, color and textures make it broad, large and sweeping. You really do have a sense of 'sweep' in your work. This photo must be seen Full Size, to see how sweeping it is. I love how the flowers sit in a small 'cove' in the rock; and how they emerge out of it with bright yellows and those beautiful muted purples. But then, around the flowers, you have all that ground and rock, which is what makes it a broad shot, a sweeping shot. The upper portions of rock are in light, while the lower portions in shadow---the contrasts of good photography. And you have a touch of blue in the upper right corner. And---as in some of your other photographs---the whole image "opens-up" at the bottom, and quite beautifully. Congratulations on reaching 600 images in late April! That's quite an accomplishment. Your gallery contains a wonderfully inventive and very dramatic collection, and your eye is terrific. Beautiful work! I hope to be back soon...
