Description
Bibio marci mating on a wind blown stalk on Bournemouth cliffs. I was lucky to get any shot at all!
The female is the uppermost..(!)

You do have this knack of catching the insects 'in the act' Great capture
Nice shot Andrea.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Amazing!
LOL, you must carry pheromones with you, Andrea; they all seem to want to get to it when you're there. Excellent find and capture!
Amazing pic.
HAHA!!! I Laugh of what Denise wrote. Superb macro Andrea :)
Great capture...
Granted they were pre-occupied but you must have little cat's feet to be able to sneak up on them like this. Amazing capture.
Well spotted!!
...Jeff has done a advisory for this;) well seen Andrea! very near and clear
Quite a balancing act, true of many relationships I suppose! The backdrop looking out to sea is a bonus. The couple are so crisply captured, scary and hairy too! They look about a yard long, that would be scary!
We have MF's over here but they don't look as nice as yours. Ours are ugly and bite like being pricked with a hot needle.
Cool quasi silhouetting of the blighters in this nice macro, Andrea. And the female on top. Actually, I like it that way. It seems the insects in your area spend an inordinate amount of time either mating or participating in some lacivious act of raw passion.
You find the most amazing things and an exceptional capture.
cool macro
Your macros of 'insectoids' (or insecticides) are just out of this world ;)) I mean by that outstanding - and larger than life ... very impressive, Andrea BB
Impressive shot how do you find them.
Great capture and image Hugs Susan
