Description
Prunus rotundifolia flower with a Drone-fly, probably Eristalis tenax.
My new Hoverfly book is so detailed that it throws suspiscion on many of my previously confident ID's! I shall have plenty to do on a wet Sunday in the winter going through my Hoverfly files.

Lovely details in this capture Andrea!
Very cool capture.
OMG, the hoverfly has a real challenge in eluding all of those white pins sticking out of the laurel. Awesome color, contrast, composition, detail and lighting in this wow macro, A.
Outstanding image of this chubby fellow. Looks like he's got some sort of carbuncle on his back.
I love the shadow on the leaf. Wonderful image!
What a crystal clear shot! Beautifully done!!
What a wonderful light you got in this shot, Andrea :-)
Great detail.
A spectacular capture of flowers and fly. This capture is so crisp that there is no need to zoom - OK, I zoomed anyway!
