Description
Christmas 2007 to May 4th 2013.
Today sadly saw the sudden death of my very first digital camera, Tizzy One.
We went for a dogwalk in a place we had never been before: I got Tizzy out of my pocket and.....nothing!
So I did a walk without taking one picture, almost a first for me, and bordering on the traumatic.
However I had purchased a spare in 2009, and it is with that that I took this funeral photo.
I still have 2x TZ3's and a TX 18 but they don't have lens caps, which I like.when I keep the camera in my jeans pocket!

I am sorry to hear of the demise of your beloved camera. Do you recall how many photos you took with it?
Sorry to hear of this loss Andrea. Superb capture. God bless.
Sorry for the loss, so glad you have a spare! I may not always comment but I always look at your posts and find them highly interesting!!
Hate it when that happens.
you got a better camera now. lol cool shot
I had a panasonic as my first owned camera. It did a great job. Its bed ridden right now and out of commission. Sorry to hear Tizzy had its day. Aloha
Is going to be a burial or cremation!! Bye Tizzie 1.
Extremely sorry about the death of your TZ1, Andrea. Glad you still had the original invoice to display in this fine foto. The demise of a camera is always a trauma with me, just like losing a close friend or pet. At least you have your other Panasonics to help you through this bereavement period. I recently lost about 50 photos due to a memory card that went belly up in my Panasonic. What a bummer. Since it was on warranty, I sent it to the manufacturer for a replacement.
Its always sad when you have to say goodbye to a loved one. At least you'll always have the memories. And the pictures.
Funny how we miss things that leave us suddenly, even if we have something better. I still miss my first point and shoot, an HP35 that provided 18,000 photos and got me back into photography. Of course if I had it now I would never pick it up, LOL!
Considering the fact that you are a self confessed beach bum, I think a burial at sea would be most fitting (chucked off the pier)!!!!! Otherwise, off with it's head!
So sorry for your camera. Take up the new one in memory... (LOL)
Yup, know how you feel, I have a cementery of past cameras, digital and not ...
I still have all five of mine still working lol but i couple i am not real happy with great shot of it.
Internal battery could just have reached the end of it's life, I wonder how much it'd be to have it replaced? I remember this camera well when we trekked the golf course. Such a shame.
So frustrating when that happens, I remember that happening with my very first digital, one of those Nikon Coolpix, problem with the usb port... fortunately was still under warranty and got my money back as they did not have a replacement.. I remember the images were good even though it was only about 4mp.
Quite traumatic..but you have this memorial photo!!!
A funeral photo of a dead camera - you are a special person Andrea - and Tizzy 1 does not have a scratch on it! Great pose of Rosie sunning with you over on FlickR !!!
