Description

The Nakajima B5N1 saw service in the Sino-Japanese War in the late 1930's, operating from IJN carriers and airfields as a bomber supporting the ground invasion of China. Not much use for torpedos there, though I'm sure the Brass kept the pilots trained up with torps... perhaps for that big secret operation that the Admiral was busy war-gaming :-( Shortly before the action in China went "global" in late 1941 the type was pulled from front-line service and replaced with the more capable B5N2, which earned the reporting name of "Kate" amongst the Allies. Gawdy "Red-Baron-esque" warpaint was perhaps more typical of the late Thirties, but this model unzips with a drab camouflage green texture. All I've done here is "roll" it back by overpainting the green to give it a more traditional IJN base colour. I'll have to do a more colourful scheme later. Meanwhile I thought I'd give it a test render in Vue. Rendered in Vue 11 Esprit Assets B5N1 "Kate" model (Gunpoint-3D, I've used the bombs rather than torpedo option for this render) my prop blur model
