Description
I'm thrilled to see the flies and bees back at last.
I have a wonderful new 'Britain's Hoverflies ' book with which I may be able to ID this and others in future.
I have pics of about 40 species from my garden but this book has photos of 165 of the 281 found in the UK. SO exciting! See that Here
The camelia is in flower now.

So very pretty!! :)
beauty !!
Excellent shot!
What a fancy center! I like it very much. You'll have hours of fun with your new book! Gosh ... there won't be anything you don't know about hoverflies!
This is a fantastic close up Andrea.
OHH! it is very pretty, Andrea :-)
What a splendid image! Great capture! :)
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Wow exellent shot well done!!!
Superlative colors and sharp as a tack in this stunning composition of the fly, performing its genetic duties atop the camelia. Camelias are rare in my neck of the woods, and insects are rarer still.
Wonderful capture,klasse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing work!
I've never seen that variety of camellia; what a gorgeous style! And a perfect setting for that handsome hoverfly!
Characters on an old detective show, weren't they? Maybe not. This is a gorgeous image and I expect the fly is in hover heaven.
Very beautiful and eye-catching flower and, of course, the hoverfly
lovely
Very pretty flower great pic Hugs Susan
Nice flower and even nicer to see the hover fly out and about, we have the Daff's and some windflowers smiling at us at long last. Great shots of your tree felling on Flicker, my friend just cut through four and a half tendons cutting a few branches with a hand saw, second time he's tried to cut off that arm.
Thats the only thing I don't like about summer the bluebottles!!!!
Absolutely beautiful.
Amazing capture with that bug
very cool, I am waiting to get a macro lens so I can take more insect pictures. Great capture!
An exquisite capture, color, zoom and details. Spring must have arrived since you caught two subjects in a single shot!
Great macro shot. Bravo
