Description
And now for something totally different. Inspired by Roxy to post a photo I took a couple of summers ago in northern Colorado in Lyons. A great old tractor seat sitting out in the sideyard next to a store that sells all sorts of jerky and other touristy stuff.
Hope you enjoy!
Have a great Sunday my friends and thank you so much for stopping by - for your comments, and whatever else you deign to leave.
Smile and take care!
Ray
Oh PS: the songs I'm sure you all got. The lyric...maybe, maybe not. It's from "Spill the Wine" by Eric Burdon and War. "Out of the middle came a lady. She whispered in my ear something crazy. She said, "Spill the wine. Dig that girl. Spill the wine. Dig that girl. Come along, come along..." The whole song is about a dream if you're not familiar with it.

I'd like to leave a couple of cats I'm pissed at. >^..^< Well, you said... ;}~ Cool pic. I think that tractor would have been hella' uncomfortable on the backside. Even when it was show room new. ")
Agree with Angel, at the best of times those tractors would have been a hemeroid ride in hell. You managed to capture a great range here with a beautiful complexity of mottled light and shadow and yet the object sill stands out. Thank you for the dedi!
Yup, I'm sure those things were a literal and royal PITA!! I also am pretty sure every farmer had his seat cushion, lovingly made by his wife.
Retro mood with this sepia photo and the frame, nice work, Rayvn !
hemeroid ride lol @ Roxy. i remember i had one at the time, always when i farted it was kind of light breeze on my a. lol. oooooooooooooooooooooops i outed myself - but dont worry after one of my heavy beerfarts the hemorrhoid went away and never came back -lol.
Oh yes, these were the good old day my friend, my grandad had one like this one too!
A super subject for a black and white pic Ray.
wow! not only great art but superb photography also Ray, thanks for sharing, wow! we had some bad car wrecks yesterday. saw the fiery crash in your neck of the woods. hope you post more photos hon.
Wonderful capture Ray! I guess the farmers that rode this would look at our new tractors with derision & scorn, wondering why today's farmers were so soft...
Wonderful capture!!
Excellent! The light ahd shadow contrast beautifully and the old tractor has so much character to it. Really great pic. I remember that lyric very well now. I've heard the song countless times, but it did not surface when reading it.
I remember that Eric Burdon song well - I still love it! LOL @ Roxy.....OUCH! :-D What a wonderful shot, Ray! It's not easy to get the exposure right inthis sort of dappled light. This is nicely exposed - lots of detail in both the shaded and sunlit areas. I don't think it's a big surprise that when a talented artist picks up a camera, the end result will be...art! Hope to see more photos as well as your excellent artwork!
A beautiful b&w photo and so we can see that the pieces of art are among us,you only must have an eye for it. You have,I now see. Gr.Rudy.
Jessas! The thing does not look very comfortable! But the picture is beautiful! A fantastic job!
Wonderful and interesting photoshot Ray. Thanks for sharing.
Really different my friend, amazing shot, interesting one!
Great image! Love the sepia and dappled sunlight!
It reminds me of the old type of bicycle seat... accurately dubbed the "razor"... ouch!
wow Ray you do very well with a camera.. the light shadows and exposure are fantastic.. and I really like the plate photo effect!
