Description
An interior construction of the US Alligator, the first Union Civil War submarine based on my Poser model that is available here on Renderosity.
Completed reworked so the hull is divided in upper and lower half to make it easier to pose figures inside, I hope people will take the challenge of lighting and posing in such a confined space. These men worked in a tube that was only 5' 7" tall.

Not for people with claustrophobia! Wonderfully atmospheric, I like the use of depth fog too!
Claustrophobia, heat, crankshaft rotation without protections, incompatibility of characters... Dangerous life!!!!! Very good lighting and atmosphere!
That would have been a tough gig! Great scene though!
Nice job! Nice piece of history.
really great subject. The modelling looks great-- look forward to seeing more renders from this. Its hard to know where to put the camera when you're in confines as cramped as this is, as you say. One solution for illustrators is a cutaway view, used a lot for stuff like submarines, and I'd love to see a cutaway render from this model. The lantern light falloff doesn't look quite right, should be more "inverse square" y (eg falloff to shadow more quickly).
There's actually more then one lantern in this scene.
Oh, wow! What a fantastic piece of art. Your modeling is so great! Absolutely great job!
