Description
I just went to check the pond and found this mismatched couple underwater with the lady very near to drowning.
Much to my relief and maybe hers she recovered, but the juvenile toad is locked on for now,
She may have already mated with one of her own species as there is quite a bit of frogspawn in the pond.
(frog♀ toad♂) Oh the ignorance of youth!

He will probably get 'toad' off for that!! Super shot Andrea.
Hey, I remember being a juvenile toad. Back then I was ready for anything that moved. But with age comes wisdom and someday he will find his true love.

very good close up shot
Great capture Hugs Susan
Both are excellent photos but I have to admit that I did not know the frog♀ toad♂ facts. I always thought that toads lived on land and frogs preferred the water habitats. I am 70 years old and still learning! I can see the difference in this photos especially looking at the difference in the eyes!
Beautiful! I love amphibians, and crustaceans, and insects, and reptiles, and...well...you get the point. This is gorgeous! I love the sheen, the colors, the misguided male (apparently the sort who will mate with anything that moves, regardless of species.) Gorgeous shot. I love their expressions and the side view is marvelous too. I love things that look a bit like aliens I'd write about.
Nice capture and very interesting text!
Someone tell them they are wanted on the telephone.............
Lovely pic.
What cuties they are great image of them.
When It comes to SEX !!!!!!!
Romeo and Juliet? Oh dear, now they'll both have stories. I hope the trauma isn't too lasting for either of them!
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

I guess that these sort of things happen sometimes.A fine photo of this mismatched pair.

What a find! They can't hybridise can they? A false photo used on his dating application form obviously !
LOL, the desperation of youth! Well seen Andrea
