I saw my first and only shooting star the night before my father passed away. It sent chills down my spine, and at the time seemed like I got to experience something truly incredible; yet by the next evening when I thought of it, it seemed almost like I was being sent a message. Almost as if I was being told a star in my life was soon departing from us, and while it wouldn't have been a surprise at the time, even when you expect it, you never are prepared when that moment comes. My dad, the most fearless, hardest working, and intelligent man I have ever been blessed to have known. He was also a pretty good artist and cook too. This is my way of expressing how much his memory still resides with me. After the years that have passed, I still think of him everyday; and the experiences and lessons learned always remain a bright spot, even in the darkest of moments of life.
