So buzz off ...
With all the unstable weather we have had recently, (you name it we had it heatwaves/bushfires/storms/rains/floods and tropical cyclones/tornadoes) - it's no wonder that it brings out all sorts of weird creatures to the surface - including the one, we loath most of all: the 'Canetoad' ...
I mean they are ugly and poisonous, warts and all! and dangerous to our wildlife, in particular to our cute little green frogs, for example.
I found these ones hiding here one night, squashed in between the pool-pump and pool-frame - they just love the wet - or each other, so it seems? playing backpack!
BTW I had another version taken with a flashlight, but gave that one a big miss!
For some reason this one looked far more spooky, with the third Toad slightly hidden in the dark, I mean really creepy!
So it's Happy Valentines Day to all of you, who are NOT into playing leap frog!
Cheers Brigitte

Great capture!Happy Valentines!
Excellent capture!
Lurking with intent!! I do love OUR toads and frogs, but I should hate to these creatures poisoning my dogs/children/whatever. What a SUPERBLY grumpy lot of faces!
I guess they are trying to stay safe with all the changes of weather... Interesting capture. Aloha
Great capture Brigitte!!
There was an article on the radio this morning about these things and apparently some have mutations like extra legs. Nice capture Brigitte.
Great image!! Sorry they are bad toads.
super shot
The members of this menage-a-trois do not appear to be enjoying themselves. Very interesting capture...
Great image, you found their little orgy. But who whats a trio of poisonous froggy perverts hanging around the pool?
all together bad, but its not there fault, poor toads... and great picture Brigitte!
Klasse capture!Happy Valentines!
WOW ... It's a fabulous capture ... wonderfully done !!!
Fantastic capture! Ugly, but ...cute! I hope that you will have no more horrible weather events. Happy Valentine's Day! Hugs!
What a trio ! not the kind of scene you want to stumble upon with just a torch in hand ! Not your regular type Valentines Day pic, but very fitting ! ~Cheers~
here's where an SPO, and a long one at that would be very handy. cool but creepy shot
EXCELLENT TRIO GREAT CAPTURE
wonderful shot
a really good photo shame they are toads.
The one in the shadows does lend a bit of mystery! :) I've heard about your cane toads. ... bleh!!
It is already difficult to photograph a single toad. And you have a trio .... W O W!! Beautifully they are truly not. Properly beasts. But they have a purpose. They also have a touch of prehistoric animals and are so interesting. Excellent photo. They look anxious.
excellent shot of the trio, Brit!
You made me laugh, dear Brigitte, what a big V-surprise to get here!!! A splendid surprise, but not for in my backpack, I guess I wouldn't walk that easy further then. What a great photo you made out of this. They really are looking as if they know 'we have to hide us', just like a kind of vampires; so evil that look in their eyes. What have you done with 'these friends', Brigitte?
Super shot I love it. Sorry for taking so long to comment my power has been out for two weeks.
A fantastic photo (except for the poisonous part) and the frog on the bottom does not look very happy.
Cool shot.
Excelletn capture, Brigitte!! Looks like a bunch of lurking criminals!! ;o)
Great shot!
HAHAHA That was a fun title on this shot and I love toads, but not the poison kind of toads. Anyway, this was a fun af super shot :)=
