burnt toast
the rooster crows
rusted cars
and horny toads
the earth is dry
as that burnt bread
and lavender sky
soon turns to red
then orange with hints
of pinkish hues
the sun pops in
and out of view
as morning yawns
in heated gusts
no time for pauses
in the dew that's gone
soon as we kiss goodbye
door-frame squeaking
brittle lust in layers
stressing for time
ignites a flame
so fast
its out of control
then gone before
