Description

A Hawk happened to be in the neighborhood the other day. I kept hoping it would come over the house and when he finally did, it was three quick circles and he as too far away after that. This was the best of the three. Hand held with the Canon Powershot SX130IS.

Either you are very lucky or very good cause this is one outstaneding capture. I agree with whaleman about the clouds, but the thing that gets me is how you can see the colors in its feathers so well. Sweet capture here bro. Bravo! to ya

you got very good detail on the hawk. they fly over my house several times a day looking for kittens or puppies, but they are too high to get good detail.one evening I was on my house taking sunsets pictures and a hawk came over the roof ridge and I do not know whether me or the hawk was more surprised. it passed over me my a few feet. I often stand against my chimney to rest my feet and several birds has landed on the chimney without knowing I was there. they got a good scare I am sure when I moved

It really is an outstanding capture, Dan! Such a fabulous deep colour of the sky and the fluffy clouds! These birds are always most fascinating to see and admire. They are ever so powerful and majestic... one of my faves! Glad you posted this, my Friend!

We have hawks in our area. My son, 10 yrs old at the time, was playing in the drive when one landed, facing away from him, on the drive way. Like a typical curious little boy, he reaches out slowly and touches it. Luckily, the hawk chose to fly off vs turning and removing my son's eyes ... lol. Upon telling me of his adventure, I hugged him and told him that was awesome and to never ever do something so foolish again ... lol.
