Cold days
Shadows of gray
Frost etchings everywhere
Summer a distant memory
Spring a wishful dream
The cold has set into my toes
Left a tingle in my nose
Home sweet home
Is still a little walk away
Smokey will be lying on the front porch
Oblivious to the Mother Nature’s influence
On our lives
The smell of cocoa
Will overtake my senses
When I open the door
The fireplace will be crackling
Inviting me over
Like an old friend
Soup’s on
Lights out
Another winter’s day behind me
Hello everyone the fog has been thick as soup here the last 3 or 4 days and it has left crystal ice all over everything. I went out and took this shot today with the new camera I was talking about ( Olympus vr-340 16mb pocket camera ) I didn’t really buy it for going to get my outside shots but it is doing pretty well. I ran the picture through a soften program and I liked the way it came out so much that I wrote this poem to go with it that I also like very much. I hope you like it too. The beauty of the shot is in the full zoom so please look in full zoom. Thanks for all your support my friends

i love thick fog, love the creepy feel it gives off. i often get in my car drive down a lonely road jamming some pink floyd. great pose and excellent shot Randy.
What an expressive photo and perspective!
Wow, these are both treats for the senses. You really captured the feel of winter whether it be coastal or inland in western North America, captured in both words and imagery. The words just flow so smooth, everything makes sense. And that desaturated looking photo is just perfect. Don't know if it is desaturated or if you shot it that way, either could be the truth. I spent an evening trying to get something decent from photos of London and ended up with one sorta decent shot - I couldn't find anything decent in my compositions so maybe I was really tuned to see something work like you did.

The best part about the outside in winter is getting out of it into a warm house. You are right, the image looks great in zoom and your poem is superb, invoking images of a warm and welcoming home.
