Description
Exidia thuretiana.
Widespread but occasional, and in this case unusual in that it is on a living tree, It's usually on fallen branches.
I only saw this because the dogs led me off the pavement and behind this tree, to savour some especially pungent foxy smell!

Creepy stuff.
It does look like something that has escaped a laboratory somewhere; wonderful find and great capture!
The gang did good to help you find this little beauty!!
Looks creepy.
Cool find and capture.
HMM!! I wonder what it is thinking :) Superb shot, Andrea :-)
did you hear any strange or creepy music when you looked at this? Great capture
Alien looking.
Weird looking stuff. Cool capture and share
It looks almost resinous. Very shiny! I see a rubber duck on the top, and a sort of art nouveau woman's head at the bottom. :)
Nice close up. Well done
I think this is how the Blob started out. Excellent and somewhat disturbing capture.
Superb capture Andrea. God Bless.
Glup glup glup Great pic of the gulp Hugs Susan~
Good heavens, a dead ringer for congealed rubber cement! Coincidentally, I read today that scientists have discovered that ordinary slime has a memory, but no brain. Anyway, I like the various facets of light and hues that generate off this growth.
OH dear, now all I can see is rubber duckies and a art novena woman's head, giggles! love the way the light works with this critter, illuminating it, shining on it and through it.
Oh, I love a good jelly fungus! They're not so common over here, which is a pity. I love the color and the wonderful science fiction monster sheen. For some reason, this one looks like it should be named "Fred" or "Marvin" or some such name. I have no clue why, but it seems to fit. And it's on a living tree rather than something fallen? Hmmm...maybe evolution happened while no one was looking! That's usually how it goes, isn't it. This is making a trip into my favorites file for numerous reasons. Oh, and yeah, I'm also seeing a rather ornate art nouveau woman's head.
Oh, interesting!
This is amazing to see. I don't think we get that here,
Awesome capture of this ooey, gooey looking stuff.
