Description
Sticking it to us.
Captured 12/15/12, around 9:15 AM, within close proximity of my hallowed hovel.
Haven't done a picket fence in quite a while. Even has some topiary in the center of the picture.
Well worth a ZOOM.
UK style weather here today with a light rain coming down.
Sayonara, and have a nice day.

Now that's cool! I love the way the shadows fan out. Beautiful light on that intensely trimmed bush too. Excellent capture!
You captured a wealth of terrific shadows in this one, Harry....and what a sweet house.
A splendid capture of this picket fence with the great shadows and the topiary. Very well spotted.
What a perfect POV to capture this radiating spread of picket shadows, Harry. Wow, and even topiary to boot...your neighborhood is classy! Well done, you!
Great-looking photo Harry, that is one cool picket fence they have
Super phot! But no wonder there aren't many insects down your way if everything is paved over like this.
Fantastic shadow, great shot...
super shadows, but wow, that yard could use some color and life!!
Excellent shadow capture . Accomplished by a dedicated photographer knowing the best time to get That perfect lighting shot. Nice.
Lines, angles, shadows...love it, Don't think thatUK only does'light rain' more monsoon this year!
Really cool what a pretty place
lol andrea, about few insects because of the concrete...well I think that's true of big cities in general, but you must have insects, right? I mean even in Chicago, which has winters that could freeze ice, we have insects in the summer. Just not man-eating kinds. (In Florida, they have insects who drive cars and can operate heavy machinery, I swear...) And lol, Marilyn, about the yard needing some color. It really looks like a bleak yard, with that lone sculpted tree to give it some oomph. But all that concrete, bleakness and emptiness of lawn are hand-made for your eye: The simplicity of it lends itself to your form-light-shadow-and texture shots perfectly. And your POV: This is about a picket fence, but also about the imprint a picket fence leaves on its environment. Love the sweep-around from the shadows (from left to right), wonderful intense light in the center (top to bottom), love how the tree-shadow breaks up the picket shadows, and a nice sweep from the truck on one end to those colored tiles on the right. These early morning shots could be a book, a view of LA that few see or notice, and yet which are right under their noses. More terrific seeing, and fine work both in-camera and out. (And you were in the 40s recently? Wow. I didn't know it got that cold down there. You were on a par with Chicago.) Great shot.
