Stunning! This is one of those elegant shots that just makes me gawk. I'm gawking as I write this. I've gotten pretty good at gawking. Good photography keeps me in practice. Oh, and I love the textures and I can almost hear them doing that grinding thing that grinding stones are so good at. I like that sound, and being one of those 21st century urban sorts of people, I don't get to hear that sound very much, unless it's a recording. OH well. This is perfect!

Well worn and warm...I can't even begin to imagine how many hands used those stones, how many times they ground corn between them...wonderful shot!
So much history in these simple objects. Who used them? What were they like? Did they sing as they worked? A wonderful image.
