Description
This is actually a companion piece to “Pre Cast”, posted a bit earlier in my gallery. This is a view, slightly raised from my normal, urban, downward focus. It helps to keep an eye down, when you’re walking Chicago streets. You find money that way, you find dog mines to avoid, you find things to photograph. But on occasion, it pays to look up (and forward) as well. You see other things, such as reflections and shadows, cars, and people. You see things that look good as they filter through the innards of a camera’s business bits. In aiming the business bits of my camera in a largely western direction, I captured traffic, commuters waiting for various busses, sunlight reflected from the windows of a waiting train (one being cleaned with that grunge-scented disinfectant) and lots and lots of concrete. I can’t say that I adore living in Chicago, but I do like the urban grunge and utilitarian drabness I see on occasion, especially when leavened with a few dollops of reflected sunlight.
As always, thank you for viewing, reading, and commenting, and I hope you’re all having a great week.

That is so cool, There's an almost dream-like quality here, like the ghost of a train, or perhaps some kind of mirror-universe train passing through like Neil Gaiman's wonderful "Neverwhere".
very cool capture Chip
It's quite amazing that you got such great light reflections off the concrete.
Isn't it amazing what a day full of sunshine can do. :)))) The sun has such a powerful way of bringing out the beauty of things here on earth while warming our souls. :))))) Most excellent capture my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :)))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))
Yes, it pays! Great image you captured!
I think on closer inspection of each pool of light you may find an instruction or some information from an ' other'.
O M G What an amazing shot! My jaw is on the floor. If this were in my gallery, you'd never hear the end of it. FABULOUS!!
cool shot
You managed to mine the city for the gold on offer; what a beautiful find and capture!
Superb reflections, Chip and so well seen and captured too :)
Excellent capture of reflections
Superb capture my friend. God Bless.
EXCELLENT CREATION
(one being cleaned with that grunge-scented disinfectant) I LOL'd. I know exactly what that smells like. I also like the way these reflections move and slither around as the train does. A lovely, magical capture!
Great image
It's unusual to see concrete that lives and breathes, but you sure captured it here. Excellent image!
Well seen dear Chip, concrete is living in this photo.
Kennst du Bruce Davidson? Ich habe seine Fotoausstellung "Subway" in Berlin besucht. Dein Bild erinnert mich sofort an ihn. Menschen im gleißenden Licht...bei Tag und Nacht. OUTSTANDING!!
I like the lighting and the reflections!
