The actual patterns are very fractal-like, but you do things with those patterns that transcend fractals. I love how you 'fade them away', into a big blue abyss...as if they were moving into deep space. And yet you have little fragments of this big lace floating out in space, like little colonies in the sky. I also love the patch on the far left---a hint of another 'continent' back there, which we never see. The whole piece feels like a gigantic piece of lace, or a doily of some kind; only very thick and continent-sized. And you've swallowed it up in deep space, with little bits of lace floating in the air, as if it had gotten loose but didn't want to leave home yet. Beautiful imaginative work!
