Description
The area to the left, in the bushes, is not accessible to ordinary mortals and is fenced off and 'managed' by Wessex Water. It contains an area of Special Scientific Interest, an SSI.
A friend. a pro nature photograher, Dominic Greves, was commissioned by English Nature, the RSPB and The Urban Heath Patnership to take photos of all the rare animals and birds on the heath.
Even those prestigious agencies were unable to get him access to the lake in there, and we think the water company may have some mis-management to hide! There is nowhere one can even peep in.

Very suspicious, what do they have to say for themselves? It's lovely anyway, this part you can access...
it does make one wonder what is there. great capture I do hope that there will be someone who will set the WW down and have a serious discussion about access
Aha so the brits have their own version of Area 51 :) That is the super secret area in the states that conspiracy folks are convinced the US govt is housing aliens. This spot sounds very suspicious too. :) Wonderful capture of this lovely looking area.
joli sentier
Very pretty and scenic makes me think of the woods around this area Hugs Susan~
What a beautiful spot and pathway. Very interesting information you have shared Andrea.
A most beautiful impression of your heath, Andrea. It's a pity it's forbidden to walk there (on the left area).
A lovely place to walk. Dom's pics are amazing!!
Very beautiful landscape! Wonderful shot! :)
A lovely walk and now I really would like a peek into the beyond.
lovely shades of green, and just what is that water board up to
I bet there a few places like this dotted about the UK with something to hide .Mick
Fanstastic photo
This is gorgeous, and I'm from Chicago and I have to say that if you're not allowed to walk somewhere, that's because the forbidden place is where the bodies are hidden, but the graves are shallow and so if you weigh more than a sparrow and the murderer (probably a political figure) is still alive...nobody can walk across his (or her)...um...little secret. Well, that's the rumor, anyway. No matter: this is a great shot and I love all of the various natural colors. It looks quite peaceful there.
Very frustrating not to be able to take a look at the lake but this looks to be a great track to take your fur family for a walk. A lovely capture.
It's a beautiful area. It seems the shenanigans of the companies can always be hidden from scientists and government agencies, and it happens here, too. Why are they always so protected....and that question always goes unanswered.
We need to get in there and find out... :) Aloha
SO you will need Knut“s (knupps) minicopter to have a little looksie in there :-D Nice place for a walk. :)
Another beauty my friend.
Beautiful Fall scene!
Sounds like a mission for an undercover photographer to me! Great shot and thanks for the link. The wildlife shots from the cliffs and coastline were amazing!
So, that's what Talbot Heath looks like in November. Who knows what danger lurks behind the bushes.
One word - ladder. This is a beautiful scene. Wonderful soft colors. Thanks for the link. Dom's work is supernatural.
Lovely birch trees in this photo and Dom's photo 'slide show' is amazing. I kept paging back at the Osprey and prey!
