i can smell the ovens. my father was working in the steel industry in the galvanising plant,and i grew up in the region ,lots of smoke and smog. but as far as i know we had not soo much damage,but that means we grew up outside in the dirty and our bodies where able to build up an immune system. nowadays kids are getting washed with sagrotan and other crappy disinfectants,everything has to be perfect clean and the body has not the time/ooportunity to build up an immune system.thats why so many allergies.

What a fantastic concept and execution. I was offered a job in Sheffield many years ago, I didn't take it but enjoyed looking around, it has a great history in British (and World) culture. Super work.

Very evocative .. I can smell the steel mills! There used to be a huge steel mill, Bethlehem Steel, on the other side of town, you could smell it long before you saw it.
