Description
i think this illustrates the bleakness of the day we visited. Low season in a coastal resort/workplace that doesn't pay lip service to the tourist has an increased sense of melancholy about it at this time of year. I have more pictures to come that hopefully show this.

Isn't it great the way the gulls spread out! Superb image.
So well seen and captured, Alan. The impression of this scene is significant, one can feel the mood, what you have caught. Also it is very interesting to see these 12 gulls and ten poles, (many in number, yet desolate)
the birds adapt and use what ever humans make. outstanding fog capture
I wonder which of the two non-piling gulls will claim the empty spot? Super shot.
Brilliant pic.
Great to see that every post is occupied! Nice shot Alan.
Looks like they will have to put out the 'no vacancy' sign. Wonderful mood piece. Low season is my favorite time to visit.
A beautiful shot, love those gulls...
The first bird near the waters....glad its low tide for him :) Interesting shot. Aloha
Wonderful capture!! How did You get them to pose? LOL!

Wow that's a great capture. Nice composition.
Superb capture my friend. God Bless.
Great capture, and very funny.
superlative image!
A gull on every post except one - how did you get them to do that? :o}
A great leading line composition with (almost) perfect balance of the gulls and posts. The failure of the one gull to follow the rules makes the composition just a bit more interesting. Grainy black and white adds to the bleakness.
How much did you pay the birds to stand like that.
Wonderful composition, detail, and atmosphere. I love the gulls!
