Description
This old bird house has been abandoned for a long time. A swarm of honey bees have taken over and now there must be a thousand of them. I am sorry that I have not been commenting as much as I should. Too many things going on in my life right now. I will catch up. Try a zoom for best details.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Very cool capture Dana! just trying to figure out how to tap that bounty of hunny.
for you I hope the are not the Africanized bees. life gets in the way of having fun sometimes
Iwould be tempted to try and get some of the honey, but they worked hard for it and will not like someone taking it away after all the work.It is probably best to enjoy them from a safe distance and just let them be.
looks like they have now called this their own, hope no one getst stung Dana, great capture.
Yikes, that's a lot of stinging possiblities there...good for them to find a home, though! I hope you had a good telescopic lens to get this shot!
This happened to my father in laws bird house he built. :))) He called a bee keeper and he came and took the first house full of bees.:)) This year my father in law put up a new house, and the bees took it over once again. :)))) It is nice to see that the honey bees have come back. :)))) Most excellent capture my friend. :)))) Thank you for sharing. :))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))
This happened to me, but in my house, between the false ceiling and the roof, we had to call the fire department, they came and found they were Africanized bees, so firemen had to use special suits and had to kill the queen for the other to leave the hive. Great capture, Dana!
Great capture of this swarm of honey bees Dana!
Just stick your hand in mate and scoop them out. Problem solved!
How exciting! There can be fifty thousand in a full size wooden hive, so they may be a little cramped in there!
Bees like to settle in these boxes to build their hive, superb capture! Be careful not to get stung, Dana!
I have not seen this before although we do get wasps behind the boards on our roof ends, there could be a pot of honey in there but the problem is getting at it.
I hope you have not been stung, Dana ! Excellent shot !
Wow, I've never seen this happen around here!
Honey on tap! A great shot but it might need a call to an apiarist.
what a nice and dry place for the honey bees, great find and picture!
