Description
This is the same fungi that I posted two days ago. Just to show the top POV. I guess I should have done a collage in the first place. A strange fungi growing in the rock garden near our mailbox. I hope that someone can ID it. Photo taken Thursday. Do zoom. Thank you Bluart for the ID.
I should have mentioned that yesterdays posting was a plastic sailfish and no sailfish were injured while taking that photo.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

I like well the mushroom but not sure i well eat this one?? Great pic again ((5++))
it still looks like a form of the bracket fungi and they do grow from the ground as well according to the 'shroom book I have. Very cool capture Dana

the fungi Dana in your area is cool and weird, great shot.
Good capture!
Nice shot Dana.
A really good fungi shot Dana.
Funny about the sailfish, it sure looked real! Like the fungi, it almost looks like layered rock, but don't tell us tomorrow that it was plastic, instead, tell us it was really a seashell, LOL!
Interesting shot!
I agree with Mike,. A superb photo, and most curious to see a bracket in this position.
Indeed, a very strange mushroom, superb shot !
It is a strange looking fungi. Did someone think the fish was real? :o)
From this angle it looks more like some decorative rock you would put in a fish tank. :~)
It is a strange one but i still like it great shot.
It almost looks like stone itself; good camouflage for a fungus in the ground, I guess. It's fascinating!
Wonderful capture of this very different striped fungi Dana!!
Well I know enough not to eat it....rofl!....Bad fungus....Baaaaaaad!....
weird and extremely wonderful
It's very cool looking from the top, excellent POV and capture! :)

It looks very alien from this direction, maybe it is from a planet far far away. Cool capture.
IT LOOKS VERY STRANGE
Great POV, now it reminds me an aerial view of a volcano!
do look strange.maybe it from outer space like that rock they find that came from Mars?
very good capture of this fungi, to answer your question this mushroom is a polyporus the exact specie is hard to tell,.base on color and circular ring i can say it is a cinnamon polyporus[xanthochrous tomentosus] the problem is mainly all polyporus grows on tree or decayed wood, of course there is always exception maybe it is attach to a root of a nearby tree probably a spruce wich can
Beautiful capture Dana.
very strange.
Beautiful capture! :)
