Description
Though we both enjoy art & visiting museums, my friend & I decided that on this trip we would generally avoid museums & concentrate on the outdoors. The only exception we made was for the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, since I have long been an admirer of her work & the museum had come highly recommended. The building it's housed in is not particularly impressive, though, & photography is not allowed inside. But I do have photos of the exterior of a couple of other museums, of which this is the first.
This is a fine example of the pueblo style of architecture that you see all over Santa Fe. It is simple, features natural, earth tones & has gently curved edges. I like many different styles of architecture, ranging from ancient to modern & simple to complex, but I found the Santa Fe style particularly soothing & easy on the eyes.
Later on in our trip, we had the opportunity to visit some of the almost thousand year old original Anasazi cliff dwellings on which this architectural style is based & I will definitely post some of those images...

Such wonderful architecture, and I love the sharp shadows created by that harsh light. Our light here is a lot like yours at home ... flat and diffused ... so this is a treat!

Nice job. I think I would have selectively reduced the HDR noise in the sky but that is just me. I like the bold sandstone colors and how they contrast with the blue sky. Nice S-curve leading line draws you into the picture. Great regional shot.
The adobe style of architecture is very calming and soothing. I too am eclectic in architectural styles. Santa Fe as a whole is an attractive city. Can't remember even seeing anything else but adobe when I visited. Certainly gives the town a great look. And just thinking of the lower heating and air conditioning costs, now that winter is here, makes me envious.
