"Leaves Starting To Fall"
Leaves are starting to fall in my back yard. At this point, The trees have only lost about 20% or less of the leaves. If I didn't clean them up as they fall, I would have leaves about a foot deep on the deck and yard. I love the bright orange, yellows, and reds of my Red Blaze Maples, especially.
My wife named the tree [on the right of the picture] that dropped most of these leaves "Courtney Wood" after a former student whose parents gave her a Teacher Appreciation Day gift card to the local nursery. At first, the tree was 2.5in diameter and ten feet tall. After ten years, it is about 14in diameter and about 30-35 ft tall. The lower section of the deck was built two years ago, around Courtney Wood tree.

MMMM...I LOVE fall. Even though we're deep in winter, looking at this picture I can smell the fallen leaves, the smell of wood smoke and hear the leaves crunch as you walk over them. Living in New Hampshire we usually have spectacular fall foliage. You look like you do too!
