Description
Looking for something different for Halloween. Found this oil lantern holder at an old General Store in Saint Augustine, Florida. Saint Augustine was founded in 1565 by Spanish explorer and admiral Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, it is the oldest continuously occupied European established city and port in the continental United States. We visit there at least once a year and we both love this old city.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

you know you just can't help but to wonder if the old alligator ever thought that he be holding an old oil lantern by his jaws and be stared at by a bunch of mobile food. Great capture Dana
a must for all entrances! very cool Dana, great find and shot. happy halloween.
LOL at Faemike's comment. This is definitely unique and a very nice decoration not only for halloween.
Damn' kool light holder, but just a tad scary when you have to re-fill ! Kool find and capture ! ~Cheers~
Not something I would put in my living room, but I must admit it's original! Super find and capture Dana!
Interesting Lantern Holder...Kewl.. Aloha
I wonder if the gator loves it.............probably not so much!
Bizarre! I don't think I should want this on the wall !
Sorry but I would rather see this fine chap splashing around in its lake.
Too cool!
Now that's probably the best lantern holder I've seen! Too bad it is electrified but I guess there would be too much heat for the jaw using a real oil lamp.
A super 'snap' Dana, what a novel idea.
Strange lamp holder... Interesting capture!
Interesting shot of this original holder !
This is a most interesting way to hang a lantern. :)))))) I bet there is alot of history in Saint Augustine. :))))) Most excellent capture my friend. :)))) Thank you for sharing. :))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))
This is awesome hon i love this shot.
LOL, now that's different! Great find!
outstanding taxidermy. Gators are difficult and especially open mounted. I once found a horse's skull in the desert. cleaned it and shoved an aquarium light up the nose - opened the passage from the nose to the eye sockets and wired up a plug for it all. Hung on the wall and at night, I'd turn it on and that horse came to life with a fabulous evening mood light in the hallway. This would be a great addition to mood lighting in any home.
that reminds me, must make a dental appointment. Great shot
Very good.
Great capture of this very cool lamp holder Dana!! This is something my wife probably wouldn't allow me to buy. LOL!
Not really a Halloween decoration up here in the Panhandle of Florida, kind of a every day thing. ;) We have a shop in the Mall by me that sells Gator skulls. Excellent capture Dana! :)

Wow Dana, that's an original lamp holder and would be a conversation piece anywhere. I love Saint. Augustine, been there several times!
