Description
We walked onto the towpath of the Grand Western Canal, at Tiverton in Devon, yesterday and were immediately greeted with this sight. This had to be a snatch shot, there was no time for anything else! Their wings made a beautiful sound as they passed by.
There might be more detail in zoom.

great attempt at a difficult subject Jeff, great that they were so close
I like it when we can catch them in flight awesome image.
What great luck you had! A good capture considering the circumstances, beautiful shot!
Lovely shot Jeff, especially for ON-THE-FLY shot. No pun intended.
marvelous image
You must have been quick on the draw with your camera Jeff! This is fantastic!
good capture, better in zoom
That sound is wonderful! Well caught.
How Lucky Jeff. hope you enjoyed your walk.
Stunning capture my friend. God Bless.
GREAT SHOT!!!! Well caught Jeff! I'm impressed and, I mean that as a guy who tries to catch speeding Jets at airshows! Well done on this! Rob
Fantastic capture. They have to fly over the water long enough to get enough altitude to clear the trees. We used to watch them take off from a pond in our park in Berlin. They went to the extreme end of the pond and began their take-off roll, I mean take off run, over the water before they get airborne and then headed for a gap in the trees where they could fly through. These here remind me of bombers taking off. Cool shot.
Beautiful capture of them flying by! :)
Wonderful action shot of them in flight!!
Tricky shot..but onr must take the op. One swan practically in focus so well done!
Nice shot!
Yes, I love the sound too. Excellent capture. I can imagine how difficult it might have been, doing it in a split second.
amazing ... how majestic they fly!!
Beautiful composition. excellent work
SUPERLATIVE WORK!
Boy, you must be awful quick on the camera-draw Jeff! Great capture of these lovely birds. Looks like there are two different kinds of swans here??
A super action capture and I can imagine the noise they made as they went by as they are such big birds. You certainly were quick acting to get this shot.
A super shot Jeff and sometimes there is no time to think. There is more detail in zoom especially the top swan on the left!
