Description
Thank you for so many wonderful comments with Jo and the alligator. Yes, she loves to share her knowledge especially with children. We passed a cotton field on the drive south. Either North or South Carolina. Early morning and no workers in the fields so we pulled over for a closer look. This is raw cotten and zoom works for detail on the left.

we have lots of cotton farms around Dallas. I do not think I ever seen any as a boy.superb shots Dana
Cool capture Dana
Amazing. I've never seen this in real life.
fell like singing that dixie song Dana, seeing all the cotton, as my cat dixie sits on my lap. great capture. sneeze..
An amazing plant. Looks like it just came out of the box. I didn't know it looked like this on plants. Thanks. Aloha
This reminds me so much, of a few branches I used to have - as a dry arrangement in a vase - delightful image Dana, thank you for sharing this and stirring old memories of mine ;) BB
Ohhh....so beautiful Dana, marvelous and soft, excellent image! Thank you for sharing!
I have always wanted to see a field of cotton. :)))))) This is so extra sweet. :))))) That is alot of cotton my friend. :))))) Most amazing site. :))))) Most excellent in details and captures my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :))))) Welcome home my friend. :)))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))))
Super capture Dana!!
Fascinating! This is something I am unlikely to ever see in the 'flesh'!
I've never seen the real thing though we do have a few plants that look like they could be used for the same purpose but with much lower yields. I notice too that there is obviously nothing easy about picking cotton...looks like a recipe for punctured fingers, arms, and legs! Nice photos Dana!
According to the song there should be a Boll weevil in there somewhere, Great shot and as Andrea says not likely to see these so I'll have to settle for cotton grass.
Never seen this in the raw, it must be an amazing sight for the first time. Super shots Dana.
Wonderful shots, Dana!
Superb collage of two POV !
Glad you are there safe, dear Dana and Jo. Wonderful captures. Excellent work. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
WOW, this reminds me of school when we did about cotton, great pics, thanks. xxx
Well taken and who ever thought that cotton could make for such a wonderful image.
Amazing and very interesting photoshot Dana.

Summertime, And the livin' is easy Fish are jumpin' And the cotton is high Belle image avec plein de souvenirs
COOL CAPTURE! GREAT SHOTS
How lovely and fluffy it looks in zoom but I wouldn't like to pick it as there doesn't seem to be rows to go down and I hear that it is very prickly to pick. I'm glad you have made it safely back to Florida.
This is a very beautiful!
Great capture! Is hard to believe this is where fabrics come from!
Wonderful shot Dana! Like so many others I have never seen this in the flesh.
