Description
Bill brought brussels sprouts home from the grocery store the other day. As I was preparing them for the steamer, I noticed how beautiful the outer leaves were that I was about to throw out. I turned off the stove, told Bill dinner was going to be a few minutes late, set up the tripod, and took a bunch of pictures.
I know a lot of people don't like brussels sprouts, but we enjoy having then steamed, and dressed only with butter, salt and pepper.
Delicious, and so photogenic! :)

Stuff you're about to eat or have just peeled off of what you're about to eat generally makes great photographs. I learned that from an onion husk...and sprouts like these DO catch the light marvelously. There are very few veggies I don't like, and whenever I think of Brussels Sprouts, I'm immediately reminded of a dinner I had in Dortmund, in the presence of a trio of quite friendly locals and a rather opinionated cat. I love the green and the light and the wonderful textures. Nothing beats a tripod in the kitchen either! That all makes for good livin'.
