Description
Cetonia aurata on Hydrangea paniculata.
They are quite shy and hide their heads in the petals when they see you, but I got a few shots with the flash, which I rarely use.
I know it's not sharp, but it serves to show what an amazing construction these beetles have.

Stunning capture Andrea. God Bless.
Excellent macro.
Stunning pic, but i don't like those.
Don't like bugs... Great image though. :)
Amazing image Andrea. I've never seen such a bug. His construction truly is well worth studying.
Really does have an impressive body....colorful too.
He looks a little intimidating scary looking bug great capture.
Great close up If he had a shiny back instead of a bumpy one he would look like a June bug to me Hugs Susan~
A fantastic pic Andrea, never seen any of these before.
Aren't bugs amazing?
Wow, they really are interesting, almost like a little insect turtle with a hairy body inside its shell! Wonderful shot!
Wow. I am so glad to have your masterpiece here. I thank you for your masterpiece. 5+!
You find wonderful things in your garden!!
Excellent capture! :)
Take a bow! A true mini beast is revealed to us all. Aren't you glad they are small? They would be terrifying the size of a small dog, with such armour as well. Superb Macro work!
an armour plated man of war it would seem, fascinating shot.
Lots of nice contrast in this shot of the shy, handsome, little fellow, A.
Nice catch, these things are out in full force the last couple weeks.
this is a great POV and photo. they are constructed like tiny Army tanks!
Fantastic capture of this mutant crab. And the focus is just fine.
This is a total nightmare!!! not the pic, which is excellent!!
I think I see a little smile in its face, Andrea. Lovely capture :)
