Description
This is a model of Historic Park Inn Hotel. This is the last hotel that is open of six hotels designed by Frank Lloyd Wright! Parties from Mason City, IA, asked FLW to design a bank for them. Then they asked him to include some offices in the design and then they asked him to add a hotel. It was built in 1910. The model is accurate in all aspects except for the bottom level of windows on the bank. Those windows are below street level. For more information go to http://wrightonthepark.org/
Last Friday my wife took me on a surprise birthday trip to Mason City, Iowa. I like FLW and we spent two days in the hotel. It was great! We toured the Hotel and bank. We also took a tour of the Stockman house that was built by FLW.
