Description
She's suffered too long, beyond her breaking point. It's time to give up and put an end to the pain once and for all.
This is a complete recreation of an artwork I made in February of 2009 during a very deep depression. I reworked the scene in late 2011 during another deep depression but realized it needed some fixing when I gave it another look here recently. So even though I'm not terribly depressed at the moment but I was still able to make this dark artwork even darker with some added details and enhancements.
In case you can't tell, the character is writing a suicide note... thus the "giving up" title. I wanted the scene to be dimly lit like it's happening at night with only a single light or two turned on. I did this because it always seems to be night when I seriously contemplate such things.

A very powerful image, Lizzie! You really get a sense of her dispair. The barely visible gun in the drawer really gives it an ominous feel.. Hope you never give up - you have too much talent for that.
