Fantastic shot and I know the trail from where you took that picture. The fact that you CAN look down on the castle from various vantage points is what made it vulnerable to artillery in the gunpowder age. Yet again a fantastic reminder to me of my youth. I was so lucky to be posted first to Heidelberg, rather than the Korean DMZ or some other such miserable place. The miserable postings came later, but this first one in Heidelberg is well remembered and the castle is my strongest memory of the place.
