Hi there.
Not completely sure about the species but I think it could be Chrysolina fastuosa. They are really a pest on mint-plants but so beautiful.

In looking at whaleman's comment, I now wonder if this is what people are actually referring to when they talk about knights in shining armor! Who knew? What a marvel of an image! I see beetles like these and often think that they're what would happen if jewelry ever decided to go for a walk. I love the colors, the intensity of detail and the nice, exciting dimples on the beetle's carapace. I once heard a scientist declare that "God is extremely fond of beetles, as there are more beetle species on Earth than any other animal" and with examples like this, I can't imagine why anyone would dislike beetles. This is simply perfect!
