Description

These photos were taken just about one hour apart, and are a good example of the saying 'If you don't like the weather wait a moment'. The top one shows the approach from the East to the house via the Cedar Avenue, just after the most torrential downpour, when we sheltered in the woods for a while. We had lunch outdoors before the next lot of thunder, then got into the house just as the heavens opened again. The bottom photo is looking back Eastwards in the rain down the Cedar Avenue beyond the Parterre. If you use this link and go to Satellite view it gives a really good idea of the lay of the land and a feel for the scale of the place. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/kingston-lacy/how-to-get-here/

Great views! Does the tall grass go brown or is there enough moisture to stay green all summer?

Simply superb comes to mind on viewing this wonderful collage, Andrea. Love the structure and overall greenery, plus the impeccable housekeeping in the bottom pic. Ideal for a game of croquet.

I'm not a fan of formal gardens, but I must admit this matches the house very nicely! Terrific shots.
