Description
This is the original Liberty Bell casted in 1752 and was placed in the Pennsylvania State House (later renamed Independence Hall). I photographed this piece of history in Philadelphia in Jan 2011. The building in the background is in fact Independence Hall. I'm sure you all know the history but for those folks who do not, there is a great article in Wikipedia on the Liberty Bell.
I thought this would be a good image to say - Happy Birthday America!
Thank you for popping in and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "SF Reflections - for Costa".

Terrific ambience in this shot of the sacred Liberty Bell, Carin, and thanks for the birthday greeting. I hope you visit my contribution to our Independence Day.

A most excellent photograph, Dierbaar! Gorgeous composition, dof and light. :*
Very beautiful and wonderful reminder of America's birth Thank you Great photo
Great shop of this American icon. Perfect crop & lighting - those warm orange light reflections on the worn metal look especially appealing...
What really makes this image so special, in fact is the imperfections, especially the big crack - being held together by those chunky rivet's ... love the lighting - spectacular Carin, BB

Great pic.
A marvelous photo, dear Carin. It looks like the bell is on fire, and I love all the different colors, f.e. from green to purple on this. The POV is wonderful, as also the textures on the wood and on the iron details.
A perfect photo of a classic icon of liberty.
Great shot! Only yesterday I was in Philly!
A perfect photo and birthday dedi for the USA. I also like the copper tones that you caught!
