Description
We had a gorgeous Sunday afternoon - not a cloud in the sky. At sundown I did a quick trip up the road and found this nice spot for a moonshot. Hand held 300mm lens against a concrete power pole. Two shot panorama merged. The trees are Cupressus macrocarpa - battered by storms.

Oh great shot! I went out last night and saw nothing! Jeeez! I don't know where you are, but I'm in Pennsylvania USA and now all it's all overcast here at almost 4 PM. I hope I get to see it tonight! Terrific picture!

Super night photograph!
Now THAT is an amazing and evocative shot! The thing I like the most about photography is the overlap region between still photography and cinematography! This has an epic, marvelously emotional cinematic quality to it and I love the colors and the line of storm battered trees. This is quite marvelous.
12 comments is a huge number for me! Thanxx all. bkhook & zigzag - The photo is taken in NZ's Rangitikei District. If we were in Africa the sheep in the mid-distance would not last long. It is late autumn and we had been enjoying a good run of stable clear weather. Some of the agricultural crops get burnt off at this time of the year just prior to ploughing/planting may explain some of the orange tint, but the air after a Southerly is usually clear. (I also enhanced the colour by multiplying moon on a separate layer at 50% intensity).
I was out there that night, here we had a lot of cloud coverage though. Nice image.
