Description
We have started packing up Florida and we will be leaving shortly for New Hampshire. So I will be missing from RR for about a week. This is a photo of dead leaves caught in the roots in a mangrove swamp. Mangrove trees propagate by sending roots down from the branches above and once the roots have become established, a new tree grows. I will start catching up as soon as I get connected in New Hampshire. Zoom helps.

Great image. Light and shadows are superb. We use mangroves to prevent erosion and to recover land from the sea. They are also a great ecosystem, full of wildlife.

Interesting mangrove vines depticted in the foreground of this sterling photo of what could almost pass as widely distributed and varied stepping stones, Dana. And have a safe and enjoyable trip up north to NH.
I really love this shot, we have mangrove trees here in Bundaberg, that is where we get the big mud crabs, but they are getting scarse now.the colour is beautiful.
