Description
Any ideas? OK, she is an owl. A very young screech owl. Her nest was destroyed when a tree was cut. As you can see, they come with an attitude. They seem to fear nothing. I do mean nothing. I have never seen a screech owl of any age back down. I guess since they are only 6 to 8 inchs tall when grown, they have to be tough!
OK. I guess I should have let you know that she is fine.
She was raised and released last year.
She did very well.

poor thing, guess it's days are numbered.
What a face! :D That is a seriously bad-ass look. I'm for sure backing down! Great image.
Well done you and her! A creaking shot of this cute kid.
Awe bless her, attitude on a cute face :o)
HA! She's got that 'Are YOU talkin' to ME?' look! LOVE this photo & so glad to her she's fine =) Thanks for sharing this!
This is a great photo - so full of character. How did you get her to sit still and pose? And, considering the character of these birds, how did you get along? Were you able to build some trust? Was she scratchy, bity, bitchy? Does she come back for visits? With the character come the questions! Keep up the good work! :-)
Cute and funny!
Sweet guy!!:-))
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... thanks for the story + happy ending!!! that beak does look 'sharp'!
Looovely!!!:-))
Wonderful image glad she's doing ok
Glad she was taken care of and released! Beautiful capture!
her expression reminds me of a female politician whose face appeared on a national magazine, though given my druthers, I's be more inclined to trust this bird overall. Wonderful photo and great story with a very happy ending
I just realized that the expression is the same that I have when I haven't had my coffee in the morning
