I have tracked her down: using the GPS co-ordinates captured in the EXIF data on my camera, she lives at the Royal Waterloo Hospital for Children and Women, London.

very beautiful sculpture and composition
This is slightly eerie in all of the best ways. I think it's because of her somewhat detached, and not entirely "vacant" expression. I'm always sensitive to the expressions of the faces of statues, figureheads, and other sculpted thingies. I think it's because I'm always asking myself if such faces are based on real people--the wife/daughter/niece of the sculptor? The symmetry is wonderful. Sometimes symmetry disturbs me because it's "too perfect" and lacks the kinds of flaws that let a viewer of the image enjoy a "way in" but in this case, the symmetry IS the way in, and I love the POV. I also like the way this makes me think of my life in Prague. All of my pictures taken there were "somewhere in Prague" and my friends, Kaca and Pavl and Stepan were always able to say where, but never really did, because they were more interested in listening to The Ramones, or finding that cool sushi place, or that wildly decorated bar with really cheap beer, even by Czech standards. In short, I love the way in which this shot evokes a lot: memories that are both mine and...well...someone else's. I have a lot of catching up to do, but this is a good place to start.
