Description
Taken from my deck a few mornings ago (zoomed in). It's a beautiful view that greets me every morning & that I never get tired of.
Grayback Mountain, which is part of the Siskiyou mountain range that runs from northwestern California to southwestern Oregon, is about 15 miles from my house & about 7,000 feet high. I used to think that it was named for it's resemblance to a grayback whale, but it turns out that grayback was a slang name for a kind of lice that infested gold miners in the area. Not quite as romantic, is it?
Haven't actually been to Grayback yet, but plan to hike up the mountain one day soon...
