Description

As we all deal with the problems we have created in this world, I can't help but wish we could be more like this mother eagle. She just lives her life day to day. Father eagle is out hunting to take of his family as well as helping to protect them. They never take more than they need, and protect their chicks while teaching them to take care of themselves. We could all learn from them.

Terrific capture! The only time I saw a bald eagle up close and personal I didn't have my camera. It would have been a great shot, too ... the eagle was flying straight at us (although we were not the object of its attention) about ten feet off the ground. I know you know how big they really are. It was awe inspiring!

They look a bit angry or even mean, but I really respect them. To me, they symbolize the early settlers to the 13 colonies/early USA. Frugality, hard work, vigilant, helpful, caring for their own yet disciplining them when needed. From the background and the fish below its beak I assume this is one you've cared for so it allows you to come so close to take its photo. I wonder what it's thinking. I understand they are quite intelligent and can be "domesticated" to a considerable egree. A long time ago I read about someone who had saved a bald eagle, which then became part of his family even though allowed to return to the wild. Beautiful photo! Keep up the good work. :-)
