Description
Iggy is another one of our neighbors. S/he has built a resting place in the black olive tree between our patio and the lake. I am not ready to call it a nest yet as I am not sure it is male or female. S/he is about 30 inches (76 cm) long. This was taken yesterday while I was photographing Dolly. When I see Iggy warming up in the morning, I throw out romaine lettuce. Unknown to me, Iggy was waiting for breakfast behind me. A quick move by me and Iggy dove into the lake and started to swim away, very fast and underwater, but must have thought about not getting breakfast. S/he stopped in a shallow area to look back and check me out. I only got this one shot before Iggy was gone. I love the golden eyes and the Godzilla look. Not the best focus! Do zoom!
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

for some reason, I keep thinking of the movie of Godzilla with Matthew Broderick Cool capture
Excellent capture! Haven't seen any of these up here by me yet. :)
I always thought they were more of a desert animal, but then, we don't have those way up here.
I think I like the look of Iggy being half submerged much more, than a full on frontal - this speaks action to me! - you very lucky to get this shot in relative clean water - brill Dana, BB
How very cool to have this creature in your pond...I have to be happy with crows. Wonderful!

Don't remember ever having seen one before-Gorgeous looking he/she
Great shot it's nice to see one of these running free all the ones I have seen are pets kept indoors.
Very cool capture!!
A wonderful wildlife capture, dear Dana. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
How exciting to have neighbours like Iggy! A great pic of her Shyness!
he/she look at you !! indeed like a tiny godzilla :)
Awesome and amazingly cool capture Dana.
I like these guys great pic hon.
Iggy is beautiful but not sure I would want s/he as a neighbour :o)
I didn't realize these fellows could swim until I saw one come out the sea in Mexico!
Excellent capture! :)
wow, so cute!!! outstanding pic!!!
A beautiful capture Dana. No wonder you have neighbors like that when you feed them. It must keep you busy, right?
GREAT CAPTURE
splendid shot!!
Day of the iguana! Really great capture considering the refusal of Iggy to pose for a still shot, Dana, and the pic looks good and sharp to me. I wonder why Iggy is so shy. He/she should realize in her reptilian brain that if he/she would be friendly and cooperative then that means more romaine lettuce treats.
Posing for you :)
Great shot, love these creatures, love the fact you can see his/her body under the water too, great work Dana
