ABIS – Roll-Out
Today sees the start of the next section of my on-going ABIS - America Back Into Space story.
Once again rolling out from the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida is Hercules, the huge Super Booster conceived by Robert L Carter and built by NASA to take its heavy and super-heavy payloads into low Earth orbit.
What payload you may ask will the Super Booster carry into orbit on this occasion to further Carter’s long term goal of taking America back into space after the end of the Space Shuttle programme so many years before?
