Description
Today it was very cold...minus 8 degrees Celcius which is very rare in Holland. And it is getting worse tonight, much worse.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Today I saw this ice skater, skating on a large lake. He had his dog with him (a Heidewachtel), but he was pretty much alone there.

excellent capture
Beautiful shot, the framing really emphasizes the lonely figure out there. There's clearly a very lengthy course that's been cleared for this skater's workouts, and it even looks like it was cleared by hand and not a snow-blower. That must have taken an incredible amount of work!
He is alone probably because everyone else is at home staying nice and warmmmmmm. A beautiful landscape though and the sun peeping through is beautiful.
How lovely to enjoy that alone if one has the stamina! And the right clothes, of course.
The sun behind the trees creating the long shadows helps with the lonely feeling in this. The light quality is great too. I looked the dog up on Google, it's a newer breed, mainly a hunting dog for water retrievals, very energetic...so it may have been a good choice for this skater. =)
wonderful
indeed cold but wonderful this view through the trees and the sunlight!!
