During 3DCommune times, I had converted this amazing (free) typewriter model into a "Barcode Writer". Now I slightly updated that scene, added more "functionality" and fixed few noticeable detail and textures issues.
DISCLAIMER: This is *not* Steampunk, because this typewriter runs on battery power, not steam!!
(512 AAA batteries not included.)
;)
Kudos/Hints:
- Typewriter C4D R9 model from www.3dsoftware.cz
- Floppies and floppy drive from other free sources.
- Model tweaked and keyboard lettering added in Cinema4D R9 then resp R12 now. Rendered in R12 Studio.
- PhotoImpact 10 for some of the texture work.

Gorgeous and NEAT
Oh that is really cool. The car dealer ship where I get my car fixed for somereason has a display of old machines like this next time I am there I will get a few photos for you. LOL hopefully that won't be too soon. :)
Love this........combo of old and new. :-)
I do see slight differences. Still looking for the thumb drive... I love this machine.
Simply outstanding!!!
Hi Hubert, long time no see... My nickname was edem in the good'n'old 3Dcommune, it's really a pain 3DC end! This model is truly beatiful as the txt and render... My FV! Good to see your post here!
O U T S T A N D I N G !!!
Sehr Kreativ, gute Arbeit. Macht mich doch etwas nachdenklich. Im Zeitalter der Rationalisierung ! Vielleicht sollte man nicht jedes alte Eisen ins Feuer werfen ! Wo kann ich meinen Kurbeldynamo anschließen ? ha ha :)
great image!
Excellent idea and image. D
this is brilliant friend... I do love your sense of humor thanks for the morning sniles
Great image and machine so not mechanically driven like old typewriters huh. 512 AAA batteries would take all day to change them.. Great humour!!
LOL! :D Well done, this is very creative!
This is very clever Hubert, even just to think of such an invention - and Tattooists will be back in great demand, all you need is to invent a retro-bar-code reader now ... oh, and no more floppy discs! BB
Exellent Done.
cool modelling, very nice(funny) work, ...and where is Woody?
GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That´s really heavy stuff, and maybe a reflection about the brain capacity of the next generation. The Alt and the Ctrl buttons might also be obsolete ;-)))
hummm...really good....i prefer steam...but...one not ever can get all XD
So cool! The old creating the new. Amazing symbolism.
LOL Now all I gotta do is learn what the heck the barcodes mean! Well done. I got to thinking about this. So I'm adding a PS. This looks like the ultimate hunt-and-peck machine. You can even use it ham-fisted if you want to!
Wonderful technology and scene!! :o)
Ho, ho...wie geil ist das denn?? Hubert, du hast die besten Ideen LOL
Very imaginative ! Nice piece of work.
