Description
My desk overlooks the lake behind our condo. The lake level is down because of a prolonged drought. This turtle tried to climb, the steep banking, exposed by the drought. S/he fell backwards onto its back. I watched as s/he tried to flip over and you can see the mud that was kicked up (lover left), during those attempts. It was in the 80s, directly in the sun and it had stopped moving. So I went down, took this shot, put my camera on the banking, turned it over, grabbed my camera and it was already gone. Zoom will not help!
Sorry to find myself behind on postings and comments. Under the weather for a couple of days.

''Sorry to find myself behind on postings and comments. Under the weather for a couple of days. '' (dana: HELLO! .... Try rolling over on your back, stretch out both of your arms and stick both your legs into the air and have your BETTER HALF rub your belly .... WINK) ... btw: For SOME? reason, T.P. hears Diana Ross singing in his head, "UPSIDE DOWN" (SMILES) OLD 'turtle' RIDDLE: Q: Why did the turtle go to a 'shrink'? A: So it could come 'out of it's SHELL' (GROANS) ALMOST FORGOT! .... NICE shot above and narrative! (SMILES)

Well done Dana!!!
Poor turtle! Fortunately, you have helped it to rise again! Great shot! :)
POOR BEAST!
Excellent capture of the inverted tortoise, Dana, struggling helplessly, trying desperately to right itself. I thought it was a tree stump at first. You did your good deed for the day by rescuing it from the elements. The sun would have really baked its underside.
I'm so glad you spotted him/her and were able to rescue him/her, they must move very quickly. We do not have them here so wouldn't know. Even the tummy is nicely marked.
nice capture
I've fallen and can't get up! What an awful position to be stuck in; glad you helped him/her out. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Wonderful shot and I'm glad that you saved this one ! I would have done the same !
