Description

I’ve made a few minor adjustments to the displacements and changed the color layering quite a bit. Added a couple of planets and dark clouds and it’s not Mars anymore. This may not be my Holy Grail of Terragen 2, but I’m getting close to it. I keep finding different things to add or change. Often I get profound results or sometimes none at all. It’s been a long journey for me with this program, fraught with many frustrations and rewarded with few successes. I will never be content with trying to recreate a “natural” scene. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, just that it’s not the way I roll. Besides, I’ve got a camera for that. As I did with Terragen Classic, I want to have the viewer say “how did he do that?” I want to create unique terrain features on the grand and small scales – all with one swipe. And I know it’s possible with Terragen 2. I hope you all have an enjoyable and prosperous new year and thanks for looking in!

From my experience I'm pretty sure there's a landscape on Earth resembling your render so I'd say it's a "natural" scene.:-) And those moons? Hey, never had one drink to many? :P Your tenacity is amazing and so are your rendered landscapes.

Best of New Years to you Rich. I miss your high altitude shots looking down on some colorful, incredible terrain...I always said "How'd he do dat?" I haven't yet tried an orthoscopic or high altitude shot with TG2. Hmmmm....maybe I'll try one :) Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Agree with Mark, gotta do more of what you're doing here. Great work; and, that atmosphere is beautiful. The best to you and Anne in the coming year.
